News:
On September 3rd. we received Br. Roger Proulx as
postulant. In the evening , he had to go to the hospital for a
few days because of a bad infection. On Sunday, Sept. 7th, Msgr.
Timothy Verdon gave a slide lecture on Russia and the West. The
following week-end, he gave a series of lectures dealing with faith and
the arts. His experience as a university professor, as a writer
and resident of Florence, Italy made those lectures very educational
and the discussions were very lively. One of the participants,
Rev. Gurdon Brewster, a sculptor from this area brought one of his
latest works: The Prodigal Son.
Needless to say that the arts have an important role today
as it did in the Renaissance. This month, we received the New
York Oblates for a week-end retreat.
