News:
On October 5th, the
Emmaus
Experience VI was attended by more than 40 people. This
year's theme was: "The Parable of the Prodigal Son: Stories of
Forgiveness, Healing and Reconciliation." Presentations and
discussions were very well received by the participants. The
documentary: "The Power of Forgiveness" was presented and was a good
source for reflection. The picure shows some of the participants.
The installation of the new boilers was delayed
after more asbestos was discovered under the old boilers. A
special team had to come back and set up their equipment to isolate
their
work area to dispose of the problematic fibers. The air is
monitored by special filters to assure that no particles escape the
quarantined area. In the last days of October, we were able to
feel the heat of the new boilers. Fortunately, the month of
October was milder than previous years.
The apple crop was not as plentiful as usual.
We harvested 8,854 lbs. of apples and we used most of them to make 412
gallons of cider. The garden suppiled a large variety of organic
vegetibles for the kitchen.
