News:
This month we heard the sad news that
Juliane (ULI) Scheifer who was
in charge of the ladies' guesthouse for many years died at the age of
93. She was the nanny for the Albrecht family and came here with
the Albrechts who were in charge of St. Gertrude's guest house.
When the health of Maximillian Albrecht worsened, Uli took over.
After Maximillian's death in Portsmouth RI, Uli moved to join Mrs.
Albrecht. Br. Gabriel's brother, Gerald
Duffee, died and a funeral mass was celebrated March 25th in
Pennsylvania. Br. Pierre went to the funeral of a brother-in-law,
Jacques Proteau, who died after
some complications following surgery for a cancer of the vocal
cords.
Br. William's
health is improving and was able to visit us several times this
month. On March 20th, we received John Ketzer as postulant. On
the 23rd. our first lamb appeared on the scene. It was an
unplanned parenthood; we knew that four or five ewes had visited the
rams without our approval. The flock is due to give birth after
Easter.
