Abbot Hugh Anderson, osbMount Saviour Monastery

September 2010
News:
On Sept. 9th, we had the privilege to meet the new Abbot President of the American Cassinese Congregation, Abbot Hugh Anderson, former abbot of St. Procopius in Illinois.  Last summer, he was elected to replace Abbot Timothy Kelly whose health was deteriorating.  Abbot Timothy was very supportive of our monastery.  Abbot Hugh was very helpful with his advice to Fr. James and the community in our limitations during his 5 day visit.  On September 17th, The New York oblates spent the week-end here and invited the monks and the friends of Mount Saviour for a brunch after Sunday Mass.  The orchard was about 10 days ahead for an abundant harvest.  Our guests were very helpful to pick apples.  Br. John prepared dozens of bags of apples to sell in the Shop.  The foliage was splendid at the end of the month.
