April 2011

News:
The month was filled with many events that made us rejoice or worry at times.  On April 2nd., John Sue In Suk was received as a postulant and took the name Br. Simon.  He is Japanese and has been in this country for over 15 years.  On Sunday, April 3rd., we made our annual visit to Grace Episcopal Church to sing Vespers and Compline.  On April 7th, Br. Bruno had a farm accident that tore his clothing and bruised a few leg muscles.  On April 12th, Br. Stephen called 911 while  we  were in the crypt for Vigils.  He had a leg hemorrage and lost a lot of blood. After a quick trip to the hospital, he was released and feels fine.  All our  ewes were brought to the barn on the 13th and, on the next day, lambs were born at a rapid pace.  We could count 200 by the end of the month.  The Triduum was busy with many guests who participated in many ways for the celebrations.  Our lambs learn how to walk quickly; this year, we might say that they learn how to swim because of 8 inches of rain during the month.
