Abbot Hugh Anderson and Br. Alban Petesch arrived
on the 1st. of September for our regular canonical visitation. They
meet each monk to assess the life of the community and at the end, they
make observations to improve the well being of the community. On
Sept. 7th, Br. Pierre made a quick trip to Canada to attend the
funeral service for his brother, Marcel Pratte, who was diagnosed
with cancer of the liver, one month earlier. Br. Justin went
to visit his family in Michigan on Sept. 8th. On Sept. 14th, Prior
Joseph Gabriel went to Rome, Italy for a 10 day workshop on leadership
at the Benedictine College of San Anselmo. While some of the monks
were working on the sheep for drenching and hoof-trimming, a new roof was
installed on St. Joseph's guest house. On Sept. 22nd. Br. Bruno
went to visit his family. The apples were ready to pick up.
In one week, 88 bags (peck) were sold. More varieties are available
at the portery at $4.00/a peck.
