Mount Saviour Monastery
September 2015
News:
The orchard is a busy place, this month. We have an abundance
of fruits and the apple crop might be a record breaker. Br. Michael
is in charge of the operation and coordinates the harvest. Br.
Justin and Br. Paul Mailloux were away for a home visit in the middle
of the month. Upon his return, Br. Paul became a novice and
took the name Bernard. Br. John and Br. Pierre attended
the General Chapter for the English Province of the Subiaco Cassinese Congregation.
For lack of space in the English monasteries, the meeting was held at St-Benoit
sur Loire in France. Seventeen monasteries of men and women were
represented. In advance, the participants had submitted a brief history
and some highlights of their present situation. Each day, there were
discussions that lasted more than six hours each day. It was an occasion
to share ideas with members of the Congregation. Br. John and Br.
Pierre returned on Sept. 26th and landed in Philadelphia while the
Pope was there.
