News:
On the first of August, Br. Stephen moved to a skilled nursing care
facility run by the Sisters of St.Joseph in Rochester. He is pleased
with the place and the care he receives around the clock. Br. David
Steindl-Rast, who resides in Austria, came to facilitate our annual retreat
during the first week of August. On August 6th, we celebrated the
patronal feast, the Transfiguration of Our Lord. On Sunday, Aug. 14th,
the Dedication Day, we thanked our friends and benefactors with a special
and a brunch. During the month, Br. Ignatio, a Cistercian monk from
Vietnam, visited some of his confreres in Ava MO. That monastery
will eventually be transferred to the Vietnamese community. Br. Ignatio
has been with us over a year to share our life and to learn English; he
has made significant progress. Fr. James is still in St.Joseph's
Hospital for physio-therapy and is gaining strength vitality Br.
Michael came back from England where he experienced the life in monasteries
of Congregation (English Province) and took some time away to visit his
family.

Oblate retreat: Oct. 7th to 9th led by Fr. Donald Raila, OSB,
oblate director at St.Vincent Archabbey. Latrobe PA.
