We had a beautiful Holy Week, welcoming about 40 guests to the chapel for Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Our Easter Vigil began at 5:00 am and drew 45 participants for a moving service that concluded around 7:30 am. Afterward, everyone was welcomed to join the brothers in the large refectory for breakfast before the Office of Terce at 9:00.
Easter Monday followed a Sunday schedule, a day of rest that may soon see wider recognition; a bill was recently introduced in Congress to make it a federal holiday. Around the grounds, spring has arrived early, with our first lawn mowing taking place on the 18th.
In community news, we enjoyed a second visit from vocational candidate Christopher from the 13th to the 26th. We are pleased to announce he has been invited back for a month-long stay as a live-in Observer. Finally, on the 25th, we gathered for a festive recreation to celebrate Brother Mark’s feast day.
