All is well with our water wells once again. They have filled back up after losing 90,000 gallons of water in June. On the 1st of the month, a second well was reactivated with a new pump and electrical system. Now they work in tandem with one another.
The 6th, the Solemnity of the Transfiguration, is the titular feast day of our monastery. It was an extra special day for us this year. Brother Lawrence took temporary vows for one year. Please keep him in prayer as he continues his monastic journey with us.

The Orien Art Group returned on the 11th with new artists for their second summer session. They came to us from eight different states. Several were writers, others printmakers, visual artists, composers, musicians, and painters this time around.
We celebrated the 1st Vespers of the Assumption on the 14th. The ewes celebrated the weaning of their lambs born this spring.

After Brother Bruno completed the hay harvest, he brought the haystacks into the barn on the 16th. Last year, several unprotected stacks were ruined by high winds.

We celebrated our annual Dedication Day on the 17th. There were about 60 people, plus the monks, for the brunch after Mass. The event commemorates the anniversary of the first Mass and blessing of the chapel by Father Damasus in 1953.
Cooler weather prevailed after Dedication Day for the rest of the month with welcome high temperatures mainly in the 60’s and 70’s. Our humid summer with 19 days in the 90’s, now looks and feels like it is giving way to an early Autumn.
