Brother Christopher returned home from the hospital on August 3rd following multiple surgeries after a hit-and-run car accident. Fortunately, he is expected to make a full recovery with no permanent injuries, though the incident remains under criminal investigation.
On August 6th, the monastery celebrated its titular feast day, the Transfiguration. In honor of this feast, the first three houses on our property were named Saints Peter, James, and John.

We hosted the second annual Orein Art Group summer residency from August 10th to 16th. On the 16th, the group joined us in celebrating our annual Dedication Day, joining the wider community to give thanks for God’s blessings over the past year.

Finally, on August 17th, Richard Sherman was formally received into the community as a postulant. Please keep him, as well as our other brothers in formation, Christopher and Matthew, in your prayers.
