News:
This month, we had three observers who spent time to
"observe" our life and its values. The feast of the
Transfiguration is our patronal feast and is rich in meanings and
symbols. On Aug. 12th, a large crowd came for the Sunday mass and
shared a brunch with other benefactors. It was followed by a
music program arranged by Claire Smock;
music for two pianos and two flutes. Autumn-Rose Lester (in the picture)
showed a lot of talent at her young age.
We were reminded of the facts of life when the power was lost twice and
the lightning on the steeple damaged some equipment. The crypt
needed some electrical rewiring to allow better safety. For two
weeks, a crew of specialists came to remove the asbestos on the two old
boilers and a hot water tank. The boiler room was sealed every
night and it was monitored by a different company to assure that the
asbestos fibers were not floating around. We thank all those who
contributed to this operations with their gifts. The next
steps will be the dismantling of the boilers and the installation of
two new efficient boilers.
