Mount Saviour Monastery (March 2023)
ount Saviour Monastery
March 2023
News:
On the 2nd, Cestir Regalado, known as Brother Francis, left the monastery
rather than face prosecution for criminal offences committed during his
time as a monk at Mount Saviour. The brothers continue processing the events.
We ask for your prayers for him. All is gift. Suffering gives all of us
the opportunity to be drawn closer to our Lord during this Lenten Season.
On the 17th, water was discovered gushing down our main road from
a water main break. The break was in front of our main barn across from
the parking lot. Fortunately, our long-time friends and neighbors run a
construction company and are located just two roads away from the monastery.
Within two hours the hole was dug and the water pipe swiftly repaired.
We lost about half the water in our main reservoir but were only without
water for a few hours.
The fourth week of Lent this year included three solemnities. The
feast of Saint Joseph was on the 20th transferred because the 19th fell
on a Sunday. Mount Saviour celebrates Saint Benedict on the 21st, and the
Annunciation was on the 25th. Included in those celebrations were the names'
day of our Brother Joseph on the 20th and Brother Gabriel who celebrates
his on the 25th.
