Mount Saviour Monastery
June 2023
News:
The month started out on the hot side with temperatures in the 90's
as spring greenery continued to dry out. And then followed the smoke from
wildfires burning in Canada which can certainly use our prayers. Even on
cloudless days, lights were needed in the chapel due to the dense smoke.
Those of us who got used to wearing masks during the pandemic were less
averse to masking-up once again.
Several years ago a new walkway without steps was poured to make our
chapel more accessible. On the 5th an automatic door opener was installed
by Brother Pierre to make it easier still.
Jeff, an Observer from Florida, arrived on the 13th to spend a month
with us. Please remember him in prayer as he discerns a possible vocation
with our community.
Fathers Michael Perry and Richard Crawley took turns substituting for
Father Don as our chaplain which enabled him to take a two week break.
Another 'smoke wave' as they are now calling it from the Canadian wildfires
affected us again for several days at the end of the month.
Our Gift Shop recently had a face lift with more changes in the works.
This month's pictures show some results of our progress so far. We appreciate
the input received from those who have come through the Shop lately and
welcome suggestions for further ways to improve.
