Mount Saviour Monastery
April 1998
Easter
Celebration:
Our Easter Triduum attracts many guests and local visitors. The
Easter Mass began at 4:45 a.m. with the blessing of the new fire and Pascal
candle. The 'Exsultet' followed by many readings and their responsories
fills our mind with the history of our salvation. For the next 50
days, the icon of the Resurrection is placed in front of the alter.
Lambing
Season:
On April 15th, our 150 ewes started giving birth. The weather
condition made the work easier and kept the problems to a minimum.
Many children come to see the new lambs and learn something about life.
At the end of April, we had 160 lambs and probably 40 more to come.
Annual Appeal:
At this time, we prepare our Annual Appeal
to meet the needs of the monastery. The roof of the chapel is the
main concern, this year. The roof has reached its normal wear and
tear; Fr. Martin says more about it in the letter.
